All 19 Members of the Legislative Assembly agreed to four shared Priorities for the 20th Assembly. These Priorities, as well as engagements with Indigenous governments, were used by Cabinet to develop the Mandate of the Government of the Northwest Territories 2023-2027. Our Mandate explains how we plan to achieve these shared Priorities, organized into six areas of focus:
- Housing
- Economy
- Access to health care
- Addressing the effects of trauma
- Emergency management
- Public safety
The Mandate Commitments are focused to ensure government efforts are concentrated on the Priorities, but broad enough to ensure there is space to incorporate guidance from and be responsive to Members of the Legislative Assembly, the public, Indigenous governments, communities, the private sector, and non-governmental organizations. Specific actions, targets, and measures will be written into our Business Plans to keep us accountable. Use the menu on the left to learn more about our Mandate, or download the print-ready version.
