The Minister Responsible for the Status of Women is accepting applications and nominations for members to serve on the Status of Women Council representing:

The Status of Women Council of the Northwest Territories (NWT) was established under the NWT Status of Women Council Act in April 1990. The members of the Council are appointed by the NWT Minister Responsible for the Status of Women. The Council represents the different regions and cultures of the NWT. Its mandate is to work towards the equality of women through:

  • Advice to the Government of the Northwest Territories
  • Research
  • Public education
  • Advocating on behalf of all women

A member’s term may be up to three years.
